wing dress update: go bold, or faint!

it's been so long since
i started upon this blogging venture, if i could cut down on my kookie-ness,
i might have achieved a notable blogging success by now but...

it's too late for that.

so why not continue
on a journey through the kook?

ladies and gentlemen,
please put your seatbelt on
for
there is a storm in tropic
dark clouds moving fast, palm trees swaying in the wind and hey look,
someone left a laundry hanging....

well not to worry, that is a little piece of dyed red silk
going under a "drench test"

hung, dripping, no wringing
will the red dye stay where it is?

it did, but
what's all that for?

that is for a red trimming finish around
the collar of the wing dress...

the red came out very vivid, i thought for a moment,
it'd be different - good - to use the right side, the slick shiny side

(the dress material is 'silk stretch satin' and i've been using the wrong side - with paper-like, shine-less surface - to paint on)

left is the shiny side, right, the wrong,
with strips of previously dyed reds in various shades layered over

oh decision time, and they say in unison:
honey we've been
down this path before...

on the right is the first wing dress
i talked about the decision time then when i decided on the color of the trim
and here's a link to the post

the vivid red on the left dress, seems a little too bright
one of the previously-dyed has
deeper tone that does much less screaming

the deep previous layered over the latest bright

a little break i'm gonna take,
much-needed perspective change...

twin girls, aren't they pretty?
the below photo, taken from the "out-of-body" angle
posted for no reason other than to show you what i am capable of

somehow,
(comparing to the first dress)
the wider trim seems more appropriate...
and a little tighter around the neck, too

after sitting on it a while
(on the decision, not the dress)
i folded the red ribbon so only tiny hint of red's peeking

subtle, sexy and quite a lot involved to implement

so...
go bold, or faint.

oh geez, i'm beginning to feel a little dizzy...look, triple visions
think it's time for a little perspective break
excuse me while i kiss the ceiling.

thank you for hanging with me, hope you enjoyed the visit
if you're here for the first time, here's a link to the past posts on this dress
if you feel like, do make a guess on which path i will take

(kooky path? that's a given)

and make sure to check back soon!

dear Yuko

… (so, now i'm recovered from the dizzy feeling caused by your last photo ^__^)

to see both versions of your wing dress side by side is a very interesting moment.
due to the totally different design of the front-panel-painting and the bigger amount of unpainted fabric around the neck, the red trim becomes a completely different expression!

the wider trim in the more deeper red from the previous dye looks absolutely right on the dressform-photo.
but perhaps this may not be the right one for your face, i don't know. when you try the wide red trim and the subtle blinking one on you in front of the mirror, the decision should by far easier.

now your nearly finished - i wish you no more scary mishaps on this last steps
and a calmer and less shaking environment …

lots of love, eve

Hello, and Welcome back Eve,

Deciding on the trim somehow gets me foggy - I don't know what's the big deal but am pretty sure the fog will lift very soon. Until then, I decided to enjoy summer, hope yours is beautiful and you are savoring everything that is summer-
Thank you for your continuing support as always!
