photo friday: my neck my neck

"self portrait 2008" is their theme this week



the other day as i was cutting my hair
i noticed a blade-like growth on my neck
by-product of my back training, i assume
that fascinated me to no end

see, the vertical spike down my neck, that's called

(ready?)

visiting heavens in tokyo

well,

if you think there's only one heaven
and it is located "up there"

think again


because today i am going to take you to
several crafter's heavens found in tokyo town

firstly,the zipper heaven

the store is called okadaya in shinjuku
i snook and shot these photos
wanting to share with the world the
bright side of life in japan

now i am moving on to
tokyo's garment district, nippori

in it i found the
leather heaven

owwwyea

the thingy that looks very tin-foily
that's gold foil pressed onto leather

the surface so metalic it's
reflecting my pink outfit



tie-dyed leather displayed next to
camelia-floral dyed with japanese lacquer



spatter pattern in mirror/ chrome-like silver
again, reflecting my pink top

yup, it's that metalic



and variety of black leather materials

i was particularly impressed by the
very thin high-gloss enamel

it's that time of the year pt.2

yesterday was the part 1, by the way

mid summer is here and i am
trying to be in water and shoot
without destroying my camera

(i did that last year by the way)


today i went to the beach
photo below's taken on shore
shorebreak too horrific for me to
go in there with a valuable

but it looks as if i'm float'n'shootin
like a sea otter, maybe?



it's hard to get new ideas for images in water
but i'm a fool who'd keep on trying anyways
