the first time i went to desert was
in 1989, california, can't remember which month or desert
that was for a video shoot for the song "freedom fighter"
by none other than the "ex. pistol", steve jones
it was totally the mad max/ escape from new york setting
(and the desert sunrise was spectacular)
in fact, it was like that daily in late late 80's hollywood
saw them a lot around town, around that time
with thunder roar of harley davidson, 'twas quite a sight
them, meaning jonesy and terry (nails, the bass player-with
very interesting history)
things were rather sparsely placed then in hollywood
leaving plenty of room for the shadowies
totally like a decadant film set, staged for you and me
arriving there from tokyo a tad bit late,
i caught the tail end of hair-metal hayday, so to speak but
you know, i know, jonesy ain't no hair metal
so this album, talked about not all that much since
throws a straight ball, "no remose" straight
lyrics ain't no poetry but that's all for good
they are merely the excuse (i'd say) for
pounding out the said straight balls one after another
or rather, the sound itself is the poetry i must say
pure sense of abstraction, where it's really at
sublimated, purified
in one thrash of his axe
instantly resuscitating the numbed, the dead and the comatosed
below:
candid steve interviewed in '89
plus the said video, chopped up
now,
i noticed in myself that, my inclination towards
what's oh so art-ish could work as a brake pedal
stepped on subtly, but stepped on nevertheless,
that prevents me from fully staying in that solid, massive energy
brought out by catching the said ball
it's the yearning to stay in it that his tunes provoke
and drive me half-mad with insane urge to
stop being so analytical and, and.....
!!!
additionally,
lemme introduce one more song to you
from another not-much-talked-about (but excellent) album
the cult: beyond good and evil (2001)
dedicated to steve called "my bridges burn"
with himself on guitar, churning it out like there's no tomorrow
(bad quality sound file i found in webspace as a sample,
so that if you ever liked it you could buy the real thing ;^)
additional note 2:
actually, i've never watched the whole thing of the above video
(promotional vid for "freedom fighter")
if anyone knows where i can get a copy of it, please let me know
thanks!
one more:
another interview with terry nails
here he talks about "fire and gasoline" related stuff
Making of a silk dress with a wing painted on it.
With dye in color blue black.
Realistic feathers placed unrealistically.

introducing "abandonment issues"
no, not involving my unfulfilled needs
but my new blog of abandoned houses and other facilities
rotting away in this here, kitaibaragi, japan
abandonment issues, here we go!!
in fact, i've started this blog a few months ago
giving it a try at making it look more
detached
impersonal
professional
(((gasp)))
(like all those cool photologs outthere!)
and i ended up abandoning my abandonment issues
here i return with the same blog but with
revised approach taking 'me' into account
-that i am just not the kind who can
try at those things and remain excited about them
i, however, am facing a challenge that may affect the future of the blog
i ended up upsetting the people with my photographing the run-down shack
and had to promise to the police i will get the permission from land owners
each time i attempt at trespassing and photographing in the future
logical in theory, but not in practicality
and a deadly blow to the joy and excitement of
riding on "momentum"
along with it, i ended up receiving the familier critique on my being
from land owners, their neighbors and cops that i am
weird in my head
and lacks commonsense
(hey!!)
(a la "velvet goldmine"...)

"the" commonsense i oughta know, i bet

(note: if you are 18 and under, please be very assured
that
it's not directed at you, for
i'm certain you are fabulous and free ;^)
and explaining them my intent
-to record and share the decaying beauty-
didn't help (but they let me keep the photos!!)
owowow, this post is getting a bit whiny, my apology
but wish me luck with this blog venture, will ya?
cos i'm gonna need it
with my whole-hearted thankyu!! to
my friends in and out of blogosphere
-i wish some of you live nearby-
below:
caterpillar (from my previous post) update
cocooning in a cigar-like hiding place
(can you find it?)

thanks for reading, ciao for now!!

if you'll be in LA this weekend- create:fixate all photo show
hi there, been a while
no, i'm not dead nor gave up blogging altogether
been just a little tongue-tied recently
but i can promote other people's stuff,
no problemo
so here comes the
commercial time!
this coming saturday in los angeles,
there'll be a show called
backscatter II
that is,
all photography show organized by
create:fixate
i've participated in the past and
it was a mighty pleasant experience
i'd definitely be there if i were
you/ there/ able
gallery hours from 4pm
followed by clubby hours at 7
in art-infested downtown LA
you can view pics from their past event
for lot more info, click the image below

now, this tongue-tied me's gonna
end this post with few pics of creatures
found recently in my neighborhood
that look like something you can put on
or scrub pots with...
(something from clematis, but what is it???)

nice coat, perfect for
fur trimming

funny story:
to take the above pic
i had to stand right beneath these caterpillars
(and there're many of them,
all 3 inches/ 10cm long)
just as i was telling them
"don't fall on me"
the magnitude 5 quake hit
shakin everything badly
no, no one fell
be back soon with more...
bye for now, thanks!
